Paula was a pioneer! She was the first female jockey to be licensed in Western Australia and the first to win a race against the men when saluting aboard Flying Lou at Northam in August 1979. Continuing her trail-blazing ways, Paula became the first female to ride in Singapore and Malaysia before returning to Perth and winning many races, including the 1986 Challenge Stakes at Ascot aboard Flash Kali.

Paula took out her trainer’s license in 1990 and has since developed quality thoroughbreds, including Kim Angel, Balmont Girl, Spirited One, Lakeside Rhythm, Thunderclap Newman, Donizetti, Easy Rhythm, Tantra Dancer, Locus Standi and Mr Alby.

Among Paula’s big race victories include:

As an owner, you can expect to be informed about your horse on a weekly basis, as well as the opportunity to visit the stable each Saturday morning and watch your horse train at Ascot. Paula utilises the training facilities at Ascot which includes sand and pro-ride tracks, barriers, swimming pool and nearby access to farriers and vets.
